Musiciens, chercheurs et techniciens travaillent ensemble pour mettre l&rsquo;IA au service d&rsquo;une proposition artistique, \u00e0 rebours de son usage industriel.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Dans un des studios de l&rsquo;Ircam, o\u00f9 vingt-cinq haut-parleurs sont suspendus au plafond, Marco Fiorini joue de la guitare. Ce musicien et chercheur est accompagn\u00e9 par un instrumentiste d&rsquo;un genre tr\u00e8s particulier&nbsp;: SoMax, un logiciel d&rsquo;intelligence artificielle (IA) qui l&rsquo;\u00e9coute jouer et improvise avec lui en temps r\u00e9el.&nbsp;<em>\u00ab\u00a0C&rsquo;est un programme, on pourrait dire, de co-improvisations r\u00e9actives<\/em>, explique-t-il.&nbsp;<em>SoMax r\u00e9agit en temps r\u00e9el et en fonction de ce que le musicien externe est en train de jouer. Du coup, il est capable d&rsquo;adapter son comportement selon l&rsquo;\u00e9coute de la dimension musicale sur les m\u00e9lodies, les harmonies que l&rsquo;humain joue\u00a0\u00bb<\/em>. Aux propositions musicales du chercheur r\u00e9pondent celles de l&rsquo;IA, qui g\u00e9n\u00e8re, par exemple, un son de violoncelle pour l&rsquo;accompagner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ces programmes d&rsquo;IA qui \u00ab\u00a0accompagnent\u00a0\u00bb en temps r\u00e9el des musiciennes et des musiciens sont d\u00e9velopp\u00e9s depuis plusieurs ann\u00e9es \u00e0 l&rsquo;Ircam, l&rsquo;Institut de recherche&nbsp;et coordination acoustique\/musique, cr\u00e9\u00e9 dans les ann\u00e9es 1970 par le compositeur et chef d&rsquo;orchestre Pierre Boulez. Lorsqu&rsquo;elle trouve ces ponts, ces relations, elle va avoir tendance \u00e0 se diriger plut\u00f4t dans ces directions-l\u00e0\u00a0\u00bb.<\/em>&nbsp;G\u00e9rard Assayag parle de&nbsp;<em>\u00ab\u00a0co-cr\u00e9ativit\u00e9\u00a0\u00bb,<\/em>&nbsp;une cr\u00e9ativit\u00e9&nbsp;<em>\u00ab\u00a0partag\u00e9e entre le musicien et la machine\u00a0\u00bb.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Une philosophie \u00e0 rebours de l&rsquo;usage industriel de l&rsquo;IA<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Le logiciel d&rsquo;intelligence artificielle&nbsp;SoMax est donc capable d&rsquo;\u00e9couter mais, surtout, d&rsquo;apprendre&nbsp;: dans le domaine de l&rsquo;IA, c&rsquo;est ce qu&rsquo;on appelle le \u00ab\u00a0machine learning\u00a0\u00bb, ou apprentissage automatique.
