From the director of Living Bach, Anna Schmidt, The Future of Music tells a sweeping story of AI (from human-like traits to heart health) through pianists and pianos, starring Kit Armstrong and Michael Wollny, and featuring our research with that of Gerard Assayag + @somax2, Gerhard Widmer, Martin Rohrmeier, Ali Nikrang
Can AI play music like a human being? Can it improvise or perform complicated music with sensitivity and style? This documentary explores what happens when machines simulate creativity with two pianis...
Very excited to report that my solo piece "你們是蟲子 (You are bugs) - Hommage à Liu Cixin" has been accepted at the 50th Anniversary of the International Computer Music Conference 2025, music track, following a double-blind peer review of over 700 music submissions. After its avant-première in Hamburg's Ligeti Zentrum in October and the premiere in Berlin's VOICES Festival in November, I will perform it in June in Boston, at the Somax2 showcase concert. Very excited to return to the US for the first time after 17 years and to catch up with my friends on the other side of the Atlantic!

... Voir plusVoir moins
Looking forward to the Night of Ideas 6 Feb at the Institut français du Royaume-Uni and playing Elez-Boulaine with a dash of Ravel on their 1907 Pleyel with Somax2 steered by Gerard Assayag while having heartbeats and breathing captured and visualised by heartfm—a collaboration between Erc Reach and Cosmos. This will be followed by a panel discussion with Marion Carré led by Eva Jäger on AI in the arts - cosmos.isd.kcl.ac.uk/?p=6058.
With thanks to the French Embassy in the UK. The theme precedes the #AIActionSummit hosted by France on 10-11 Feb at the Grand Palais in Paris.
