In 2020, we had the exciting opportunity to collaborate on
testing and implementing a prototype computer program intended to
enhance real-time improvisation, Somax2.
We quickly recognized that the musical material we had previously fixed on CDs (see references
for 1§) could be repurposed in this new context. The compositions of
Cage, Xenakis, Scelsi, and Harvey became a wellspring of inspiration,
guiding our exploration of this cutting-edge technology.
This present document represents the culmination of our work
with the next generation Somax2 software at the time of recording
(end of 2023).
Centered around Cage’s Solo for Sliding Trombone, this
piece offers listeners a spectrum of interpretations, ranging from a
“source” version to more intricate variations, expansions (see PDF booklet for details).
Many thanks to a lot of people (all) :
More details, very soon !
